PRINCIPLES OF WORK
Constitutionality and legality of operations
In its work, the SEC is guided exclusively by the Constitution and the laws of the Republic of Macedonia, as well as by secondary legislation, instructions, and the Electoral Code. In its work, the SEC applies international conventions and good electoral practices.
Транспарентност и јавност – Transparency and publicity
The work of the SEC is transparent and open to the public
The SEC uses all means of informing the public, citizens, and participants in the electoral process, including its website, existing and future social media platforms, the media, and direct communication where appropriate.
Reports on the work of the SEC are submitted to the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia (and relevant competent bodies) and are published on the website within the shortest possible time.
Independence, impartiality, and accountability
The members of the SEC and its staff act independently of any centre of power, make impartial decisions based on established facts, and responsibly carry out all activities necessary for the conduct of the electoral procedure.
Continuous improvement and enhancement of work – following the electoral cycle principle
The SEC is committed to achieving the highest possible standards (excellence) in the administration and management of the electoral process. In doing so, we follow international good practices and recognized standards. We continuously conduct self-evaluation, as we strive to constantly improve our work so that each successive electoral cycle is better than the previous one. In this regard, we increase efficiency, carry out work with less effort, and enhance effectiveness, thereby reducing the costs of our operations.
